Lodge Cottage
Lodge Cottage is one of fifteen cottages at Scalby Lodge, near Scarborough. The cottages are owned by the Duchy of Lancaster, which is a royal estate. They're on the cliff tops.
The cottage sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that's handy. It has a 4 Star rating. It's well kept and comfortable. It's detached, so it's just your party.
You've got your own enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. The living area is open plan. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. There's an electric vehicle charger on site. We can provide a cot and highchair.
We accept one well-behaved dog. There's a kids' play area on site shared between the cottages.
The location is good. It's rural and quiet, but you're only about ten minutes by car from the centre of Scarborough. The Cleveland Way path runs right past the site if you want to walk. You can head south towards Filey or north towards Robin Hood's Bay.
In Scarborough, you've got the two beaches, the castle, and the Open Air Theatre. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. Whitby is about a 30-minute drive up the coast. York is just over an hour away by car.
