Mount View
Mount View is a first-floor flat in a Victorian townhouse in Scarborough. It looks out onto a green and you can see Oliver's Mount from the front windows.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms: one good-sized double, and one room with a double bunk bed and a single bunk above it. There's one shower room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept.
You'll need to walk up one flight of communal stairs to get to the front door. Inside, it's all one open-plan living space. The kitchen's at one end, the sofas and TV at the other. It gets a lot of light. We've left some board games and DVDs there.
The flat allows one well-behaved dog. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding and towels are provided. We can also put out a travel cot and highchair if you need them.
You're in a quiet spot but right between the two bays. North Beach is a few minutes' walk one way, South Beach the other. Both are sandy and big. The castle's on the headland between them. The promenade goes all the way along if you fancy a long walk.
Peasholm Park is close by, with its lake and gardens. The Alpamare waterpark is just along the coast road if you want slides or a swim. For a different day out, the National Trust has a lot of coastal spots nearby, like Ravenscar. Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are about half an hour's drive up the coast.
