Apple Tree Cottage
Apple Tree Cottage is in Scalby, which is part of Scarborough. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. That's handy if you don't fancy stairs. It's got one bedroom and sleeps two.
The cottage is one of a small group on the site, so there might be other people around, but you get your own garden. It's enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. The garden faces west, so you get the sun in the evening. You can see fields and a bit of the sea in the distance.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is included. We've left a folder with suggestions for walks and places to eat, if that helps.
Scalby village is about a fifteen minute walk. There are two pubs and a shop. The North York Moors start pretty much from the back gate. The Forge Valley woods are half a mile away for a stroll. If you want the beach, Scarborough is ten minutes in the car.
From here, you can get to a lot of places within half an hour. Whitby is up the coast, Robin Hood's Bay too. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is at Pickering. The Cleveland Way footpath runs nearby if you're a serious walker.
