Wood View

Wood View is in Cloughton. It's a single-storey lodge, so everything is on the ground floor. It sleeps two.

It's detached and quite private. You look out into the woods. Opposite is the site of a Bronze Age settlement, which is just a field now but it's an interesting bit of history. The patio area is yours to use.

The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is open plan. The bed and the bathroom are both en-suite to the main living space. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and there's parking right outside.

There's an electric vehicle charger by the parking spot. It's a type 2 plug that goes into a 3-pin socket. We ask for an honesty payment for its use.

You're in one of the Dark Sky Reserves here, so on a clear night the stars are very good.

For facilities, you've got WiFi, a TV, and bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

There are two pubs within walking distance. The closest is about a hundred metres, the other is maybe an eight-hundred metre walk. Both serve food.

For walks, you can get onto the Cleveland Way coastal path about a kilometre away. The Old Railway track is even closer and runs for over twenty miles. A local walk through the woods takes you to Hayburn Wyke, which has a pebble beach and twin waterfalls.

By car, you're about ten minutes from Scarborough town centre. The North Bay beach is six minutes away. Attractions like Peasholm Park, the Open Air Theatre, Alpamare Water Park, and the Sea Life Centre are all between five and ten minutes' drive. Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes south, Ravenscar about seven minutes.
