Smugglers Rock House

Smugglers Rock House is in Ravenscar, up on the cliffs between Whitby and Scarborough. It's a big house, built to take in the view. You can see right down the coast to Flamborough Head on a clear day.

It sleeps fourteen, which is a lot. Seven bedrooms, all with their own shower room. That's the main thing about it. Everyone gets their own space.

The driveway is gravel and fits a few cars. There's a patio out front with picnic benches for everyone to sit together.

Inside, it's one big open room at the back for cooking, eating, and sitting. The kitchen is modern. The dining table seats everyone. The living area has sofas around a fireplace.

Six bedrooms are on the first floor. One is a family room with a double and a single bed. The seventh bedroom is a twin up on the second floor, under the eaves.

The stairs are a bit steep and narrow in places. Just so you know.

There's a pub about a mile away. The nearest shop is four miles, so you'll want to bring your shopping with you.

For walks, you're right on the Cleveland Way. The old railway line, the Cinder Track, is nearby too and goes to Whitby or Scarborough. The beach at Ravenscar is rocky and you can often see seals. It's about a two mile walk down.

Whitby is a 25-minute drive, Scarborough about half an hour. Robin Hood's Bay is very close.

The house has fast Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. It has an electric vehicle charger on the driveway.

Useful links if you're planning: North York Moors National Park, National Trust Yorkshire Coast, and for the coastal path, Cleveland Way.
