This is Cart Shed on our farm in Normanby. It's just two of us here, so it's a one-bedroom place for two people. It's a converted barn, so it's one big room downstairs with the kitchen and living area, and the bedroom with a kingsize bed is upstairs.
You get the views across our fields. The sunsets are good. At night, you can see a lot of stars. The building is old, so there are beams. The stairs are steep, like a lot of places round here.
Whitby is about ten minutes' drive. It's got the usual seaside things: fish and chips, the abbey, the beach. Robin Hood's Bay is closer. It's small, with steep, cobbled streets down to the sea. Good for a walk and a pint.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. You can walk for miles from the door. The Cleveland Way path is nearby if you want a proper coastal walk. For a day out, the steam train from Whitby to Pickering goes right through the middle of it all. North York Moors National Park has all the maps and information.
You can bring two dogs. There's a small patio area with a table, and parking right outside. We provide bed linen and towels. There's a washing machine and WiFi. The TV is a smart one.
If you're coming with more people, we've got two other cottages next door you can book together.
