The Garth is in Whitby. It's on the edge of town, opposite the rugby club. It's a semi-detached house, nothing especially fancy. Sleeps up to seven, with three bedrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There are two bathrooms, which helps with a group.
Parking is a big thing here. You get a driveway for two cars, which is useful in Whitby. The front garden is nice and the back one is fully enclosed. Good for dogs. We allow up to three. You can request a dog crate if needed.
The house itself is fine. Downstairs there's a living room with a TV and a gas fire. Kitchen has what you need, dishwasher and washing machine included. There's a dining table for everyone. Bedrooms are upstairs. One double has its own ensuite bathroom. Another double, and a third room with a double bunk bed. That's a proper adult-sized bunk, sleeps two. There's also a family shower room on that floor.
You're about a fifteen minute walk from the beach. Whitby itself is well-known. Cobbled streets, fish and chips, the Abbey. It can get busy with the Goth weekends and such. The Cleveland Way coastal path is very close if you want to walk to Sandsend or Robin Hood's Bay.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got a few options. Robin Hood's Bay is a ten minute drive south. Scarborough is about thirty minutes south. To the north, Saltburn-by-the-sea is around twenty-five minutes. Inland, the North York Moors National Park starts pretty much straight away. You can catch the steam train from Whitby into Goathland if you want that experience.
Facilities are listed, but the main ones are: all bedding and towels are included, there's a cot and highchair if you need them, WiFi, and the parking. It's a practical sort of place for a family or a group.
