The Annexe
The Annexe is in Whitby. It's a two bedroom place attached to our main house, but you've got your own front door and parking space. It sleeps four.
The rating is 3 Star. So it's clean and it works, but it's not high-end. It's a good, straightforward base.
You're about a five minute walk from the town centre. The harbour, the shops, the fish and chips, it's all right there. The 199 steps up to the Abbey are at that end of town too. It's a proper climb but the view from the top is worth it.
The layout is a bit different. Both bedrooms are on the ground floor. One is a twin, the other is a double with its own shower room. The separate toilet is also downstairs. The living room and kitchen are upstairs on the first floor. The stairs inside are fine.
Outside, there's a small patio area with a table. You can sit out there if the weather's good.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive.
From here, you can walk the Cleveland Way along the cliffs. Robin Hood's Bay is a short drive south, maybe ten minutes. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. For a bigger day out, York is about an hour and a half's drive.
