Bee's Place

Bee's Place is on the edge of Whitby. It's a detached house, so no one attached to either side. The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs. It's a long garden too, about 120 feet. You get a decent view of the fields at the back.

It sleeps six people. Four bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are fine, just normal.

You're about a mile from Whitby town centre. That's a 20 minute walk or a couple of minutes in the car. There's a local pub within walking distance. The beach at Whitby is about the same distance.

Whitby itself has the lot. The abbey, the old town, plenty of shops and places to eat. The beach is sand. You can sometimes see surfers out there. For walking, you're right on the doorstep of the North York Moors. The North York Moors National Park website has good route ideas.

Up and down the coast from here are some good spots. Robin Hood's Bay is about 15 minutes drive. Staithes is maybe 25 minutes. For a different day out, the steam train from Whitby across the moors is worth doing.

Within half an hour you've got a few options. The Sea Life Centre at Scarborough, or Dalby Forest for walking or cycling. Go Ape is there if that's your thing. Flamingoland is about 40 minutes away.

At the house, the main living area is open plan. There's a TV, a dining table, and the kitchen is off that. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park on the drive. We provide bedding and towels. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. We take up to three well-behaved dogs.

If you're planning visits, the English Heritage page for Whitby Abbey is useful for tickets.
