Dawns Gem
It's called Dawns Gem, but honestly it's just a flat above a shop on West Cliff. The front looks out onto St Hilda's Church, and from the back you get a clear view out to sea.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and a shower room each. It's a three-star place, so it's clean and comfortable. You're not getting anything fancy.
About the stairs. They're up to the second floor and they're just steep. The treads are a bit narrow too.
It's on a quiet square. The shop underneath is handy. There's a pub and a restaurant a few minutes away. To get down to the harbour and the beach, you've got the cliff lift, which is only a couple of hundred yards from the door.
You're in Whitby, so there's boat trips and the Abbey. For proper coast walking, you're on the Cleveland Way. The North York Moors are a short drive inland if you want to get up onto the tops.
Things inside: it's open plan in the living space. There's wifi and a TV. Bedding and towels are there. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. The electricity is included. You can bring two dogs.
