Idagale
Idagale is in Whitby, up by the West Cliff. It's a tall, narrow house over five floors.
It sleeps six and has four bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
Access is via some outside stone steps from the street. Inside, the stairs between floors are standard for an old Whitby house, which means they're quite steep. The top double bedroom is in the eaves with Velux windows.
The kitchen is a bit quirky. It's on the lower ground floor and has an extending table in front of a gas heater. The living room is on the ground floor with leather sofas and a TV. From the kitchen, a rear door leads out into a small ginnel.
You can bring up to two dogs. The town is very dog-friendly, with plenty of cafes and pubs that allow them.
It's about half a mile to the beach and the harbour. The famous 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey are close by. For walks, you can pick up the Cleveland Way coastal path or the old Cinder Track railway line directly from town. The North York Moors National Park starts just inland.
Robin Hood's Bay is about six miles south, and Staithes is about ten miles north. Scarborough is roughly twenty miles down the coast. York is about an hour's drive away.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, and TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There is on-street parking nearby subject to availability.
