Cliff View
Cliff View is on Cliff Street in Whitby. It's a cottage, but it was completely rebuilt a few years ago. It's modern inside now.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all king size, over two floors. Two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, one with just a shower. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and everything's new. The stairs are fine, normal.
The main thing is the view. The front of the house is mostly glass, looking right over the harbour and out to sea. There's a patio out front with glass fencing so the view isn't blocked. You can sit out there.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. Kitchen with a breakfast bar, then the living and dining area. Everything faces the sea. Upstairs, the bedrooms are straightforward with fitted storage. The bathrooms are good.
You're right in the town. The beach, the shops, and the pubs are a few minutes' walk down the hill. It's a proper working harbour, so you'll see the fishing boats. Plenty of places to eat fish and chips.
If you want to explore, you're on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train goes from Whitby station. It goes to Pickering through the moors.
Along the coast, Sandsend is a nice walk along the beach. Robin Hood's Bay is about a 15-minute drive. For a big day out, Scarborough is roughly half an hour south.
Facilities: it's got the standard things. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stairgate if you need it. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
