Bosuns Cottage is in Whitby, right on the east side of the town. It used to be a smoke house, but it's been done up. The view is the main thing. You look straight out over the beach and the harbour entrance.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and everything works. The heating is good for winter.
You're about a hundred yards from the beach. To get to the harbour bridge and the main part of town, it's a five minute walk down the cobbled streets.
Whitby itself has everything you'd need. Plenty of pubs, fish restaurants, and the usual tourist shops. The Captain Cook Museum is here if that's your sort of thing. For walks, you can join the Cleveland Way right from the doorstep. The National Trust Yorkshire Coast site is useful for that.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you want to drive out, the North York Moors are about twenty minutes away. Robin Hood's Bay is a ten minute drive along the coast.
