The Old Bakery is a flat in Whitby town centre, on Church Street. It's an old building that's been done up, converted from a bakery. It's on three floors, so there are quite a few stairs. They're a proper, old-fashioned staircase.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well finished, modern and comfortable. It's a nice place.
The location is the main thing. You walk out the front door and you're right in the middle of it all. Shops, pubs, fish and chip places, the lot. The harbour is two minutes away. Whitby Abbey is up the famous 199 steps. It's all on your doorstep.
For a proper beach day, the sand here is good and long. For a change, Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes drive south. It's a different kind of place, tucked in the cliffs.
If you want to get out of town, you're on the edge of the North York Moors. The North York Moors National Park website has walking and cycling routes. The steam train from Whitby to Pickering goes right through it. Goathland station is the one from Heartbeat, if that's your thing.
Amenities in the flat: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's no dedicated parking, but you can pull up outside to unload. There are pay car parks a short walk away, or a park and ride on the edge of town. Some people just come by train, which is easy.
