Honeyz Hideaway
This is Honeyz Hideaway in Whitby. It’s an apartment on the first floor, above our shop where we sell the soaps and bath stuff. The building is old, from the 1800s, so the ceilings are beamed and a bit low in places. It's Grade II listed.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything works, it's clean and modern inside, but you definitely know you're in an old building.
The location is the main thing. You're right on one of the oldest streets, about 50 yards from the harbour. The 199 steps up to the Abbey are literally at the end of the row. It's busy here in season, which is good if you want to be in the middle of things.
You have the whole apartment to yourselves. We're just downstairs in the shop during the day. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV. There's no private parking, but there are car parks a few minutes walk away.
For things to do, you're right there. The beach, shops, pubs and restaurants are all on your doorstep. The North York Moors National Park starts just outside town. Robin Hood's Bay is a 15 minute drive, Staithes is about half an hour. You can get the steam train from Whitby station into the moors. Scarborough is 40 minutes south, York is about an hour and a half.
