Tidal Retreat

Tidal Retreat is the apartment on the first floor of the building. It's on the edge of Whitby, maybe a ten minute walk into the middle of town. It’s quiet up there.

It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s a 4 star place, so it’s in good nick. Everything’s clean and it was done up not too long ago. The open plan living bit is a decent size.

You get your own parking space, which is a real plus in Whitby.

The building has shared grounds. There are benches where you can sit and look out over the River Esk.

It’s good if you walk. You can pick up the Cleveland Way coastal path easily. The old railway line to Scarborough, the Cinder Track, starts nearby. It goes through Robin Hood’s Bay. There’s also a path along the river.

Whitby itself has everything you need. Plenty of pubs, shops, and the famous fish and chips. The Abbey and St Mary’s Church are up on the cliff. The tour bus goes up there if you don’t fancy the steps.

You’re close to the North York Moors. Places like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes are along the coast, about a twenty minute drive. Robin Hood’s Bay is even closer.

For a day out, you can get a steam train on the North York Moors Railway from Whitby. York is about an hour away by car or train.

Facilities: it’s got a washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
