Oakfield Cottage is in Robin Hood's Bay. You can't drive to it. You park up at the top of the village and walk down. It's a steep hill with cobbles and steps, so pack light. The front door is partway down.
It's a proper old fisherman's cottage, Grade II listed. That means low beams and winding stairs. It sleeps four, sometimes a fifth if you use the single bed in the second bedroom. The main bedroom has a king bed. There's one shower room.
Downstairs there's a living room with a wood burner. The kitchen is on a lower level. It's small but has what you need, and a table for four. Up in the second bedroom, under the vaulted ceiling, you get a view out over the rooftops to the sea.
Everything is included: bedding, towels, WiFi, electricity. There's a TV.
The village is the main thing here. It's all cobbled paths and old lanes. The pub is literally a few doors down. There are a couple of fish and chip shops and some small cafes. The beach is a short walk away.
For walking, the Cleveland Way goes right through. The Coast to Coast walk starts or finishes here too. You can walk the old rail trail to Whitby along the cliffs. Whitby is about six miles away, with the abbey and a long beach.
Staithes and Runswick Bay are along the coast, maybe a twenty minute drive. The North York Moors are on your doorstep. Useful links for planning: North York Moors National Park and National Trust Yorkshire.
