Oakfield Cottage is in Robin Hood's Bay. It's one of those old fishermen's cottages right in the village. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one shower room.
The stairs are steep and winding. It's a listed building, so that's how they are.
The place is on the hill down to the harbour. You can only get to it on foot. You park at the top of the village. There's a steep hill and some stone steps down to the front door. It's part of the character of the place. Just something to be aware of if you have a lot of luggage.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is downstairs on the lower ground floor. It's compact, but it has what you need. There's a table for four in there.
One bedroom has a king bed. The other is up another flight of stairs and has a double and a single bed under the eaves. You can see the sea from there.
The village has a couple of pubs, a few shops, and some fish and chip places. The beach is about five minutes walk down the hill.
It's good for walking. The Cleveland Way path goes along the cliffs. The Coast to Coast walk starts or ends here. You can walk to Whitby along the old railway line, which is now a path. Whitby has the abbey and a long beach. It's about a 20 minute drive.
The North York Moors are right there if you want to go inland. Places like Staithes are along the coast, maybe 15 minutes by car.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, bedding and towels are included, and the electricity is covered. There's no garden, but you're in the middle of the village. No pets.
