Island Farm House

Island Farm House is just outside Staintondale village, on the edge of the North York Moors. It's a big, detached farmhouse in the fields. It sleeps fifteen, which is why it's got seven bedrooms. They're all en-suite, so eight bathrooms in total.

The main thing is the space. Big kitchen with seats, big dining room, big living room with a wood burner. There's a games room with a pool table, and a tennis court outside. The garden is large and lawned, completely enclosed.

The location is the main draw. You're about halfway between Whitby and Scarborough, so both are easy. The coast path is right there for walking. You're in the North York Moors National Park, so you can walk or cycle straight from the door. Robin Hood's Bay is a short drive south, Ravenscar is close for watching the seals. There are dog-friendly beaches about.

Whitby has everything: the abbey, the harbour, fish and chips, shops. Scarborough is the classic seaside resort, with the theatre in the summer. The North York Moors National Park site has details on walking trails.

Facilities: it's all there for a big group. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, highchair and cot. Parking for several cars. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. You can bring up to three dogs.

Useful for planning: North York Moors National Park and Visit York. York city is about an hour's drive if you fancy a day trip.
