Rudda Farm Cottage is on our farm in Staintondale. It's semi-detached, one of a row of three. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have dogs. The view from the back patio is just fields and sky.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles. Two bathrooms, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. It's a proper cottage, so the stairs are steep. You need to watch your head on the beam at the bottom.
You're about halfway between Whitby and Scarborough. It's quiet here. The local pub is about a mile away, in Ravenscar. They do food. The nearest shop is a five mile drive, so you'll want to bring groceries with you.
For walks, you can go straight from the door onto the Cleveland Way or into the North York Moors. Ravenscar is a ten minute drive. You can walk down to see the seals there. Robin Hood's Bay is about twenty minutes north. Whitby is half an hour. It's got the abbey, the harbour, and a lot of fish and chip shops. Scarborough is the same the other way, about half an hour south. It's more of a traditional seaside town.
If you're here for the coast, most of the beaches are a short drive. Some are dog friendly all year, others have restrictions in summer. It's best to check the signs.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a wood burner. We include bedding and towels. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got bike storage if you need it.
