May Cottage

May Cottage is on a farm just outside Cloughton, up in Lind Head. It's one of a group of old stone buildings that have been done up for holidays. The cottage sleeps two in one bedroom. The beds are twins, which is good for friends or for a parent and child.

It's all on one level inside, which is handy. There's a living area with a sofa and chairs, a small dining table, and a kitchen. There are beams in the ceiling. The bathroom has a shower.

The main thing here is the shared facilities. There's a swimming pool on site, which is kept warm. You can book time slots for that. There's also a games room with a pool table and table tennis, and some books and games. Outside, there's a BBQ area with picnic benches and views over the fields.

The village of Cloughton is a couple of miles away. It's quiet. It has two pubs that do food. The nearest bit of coast is at Hayburn Wyke, which is a short drive. There's a woodland walk there that goes down to a small waterfall and a cove. There's a pub there too, an old coaching inn.

For walking, you're near the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track. You can walk to Ravenscar or Robin Hood's Bay from here, or drive to Whitby which isn't far. The North York Moors National Park starts inland from here, and Dalby Forest is good for cycling.

In terms of what's here: there's parking, a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. The property has a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable.
