Troutbeck Cottage
Troutbeck Cottage is one of a group of cottages on the Scalby Lodge Estate near Scarborough. It's on a cliff top, so the views are good. The cottage is for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is done to a high standard, it's comfortable and clean. Everything is on the ground floor, which is useful. It's open-plan, so the living, dining, and kitchen area is all one room. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. You can park right outside.
You're allowed one dog. There's a kids' play area on the estate, but this cottage is more for couples. There's also an electric vehicle charger if you need it.
Location wise, you're just north of Scarborough town. It's about a ten minute drive to the beaches or the castle. The Cleveland Way footpath runs along the cliffs here, so you can step out the door and go for a proper coastal walk. The RSPB centre at Bempton Cliffs is about twenty minutes up the coast if you like seabirds.
Scarborough has the Open Air Theatre for big concerts. Whitby is half an hour's drive north for the Abbey and the steam train. The North York Moors are right on your doorstep. York is just over an hour if you fancy a day trip.
