Sea Fever

Sea Fever is in Scarborough, about a ten-minute walk from the North Bay beach. It's the end terraced cottage on a quiet lane. You've got a long private driveway, so parking is right outside.

It sleeps five in three bedrooms, with one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase.

You've got a wood burner in the front living room. The kitchen is at the back with French doors to the garden. The garden is enclosed and has a lawn, flower beds, and a summerhouse with seats. There's a utility room outside next to the kitchen, which is handy for wet coats or sandy shoes.

You're between the two bays. North Bay is closer and a bit quieter, with the Sea Life Centre and colourful beach huts. South Bay has the harbour, amusement arcades, and the castle on the headland. You can walk between them along the promenade.

In town, there's Peasholm Park with its lake and boats, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, and the Alpamare waterpark with outdoor heated pools. The Open Air Theatre gets big acts in summer.

Up the coast, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are about a half-hour drive. For a good walk, the Cleveland Way path runs right along the cliff top.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine in the utility room, cot, highchair, stairgate. One well-behaved dog is allowed. Bedding and towels are included.

Useful links for planning: North York Moors National Park and Scarborough Castle.
