This is Blue Mountain Barn. It's a single-storey place near Scalby, just outside Scarborough. It's a converted field barn, so it's detached and feels very private. The main thing is the view. You look out over fields and you can see the sea and Scarborough Castle in the distance.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, both en-suite bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's done to a good standard. It's all on the ground floor, which is handy. The original oak beams are still there.
There's no one overlooking you. You get your own garden and patio. The parking is right there.
For facilities, you've got the basics: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The local shop and pub are about a mile away.
You're in a good spot for getting out. You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The coast is about ten minutes in the car. Scarborough itself is close for the beach, the castle, and that sort of thing. National Trust Yorkshire Coast has info on places like Ravenscar and Robin Hood's Bay, which are within half an hour. Whitby is about a 40-minute drive.
You can bring two dogs. It can be booked for Christmas breaks.
