Driftwood

It's called Driftwood. It's on a quiet street in Scarborough, about ten minutes' walk from the North Bay beach. It's a Victorian townhouse, sleeps eight.

There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps with a bigger group. One is a big master bedroom with its own shower room. Two of the bedrooms are twins. The fourth is up in the eaves, also a twin, with a shower room next door.

Downstairs is mostly open plan. Living area, dining area, and a kitchen that's got what you need. There's a utility room with a washer and dryer. The garden is a courtyard out the back, with a table and chairs. It's got fairy lights for the evening.

There's also a games room upstairs with a console and some toys. It's got two sofa beds in it, a double and a single, if you need extra sleeping space. Just ask.

The stairs are fine, but they're the original house stairs. A bit steeper and narrower than a modern house.

The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

You can take two dogs. It says that on the booking.

Location is the main thing. You can walk to the town centre, the castle, or Peasholm Park in about ten minutes. The beach is less than ten minutes downhill. The promenade is flat and long if you want a proper walk. Lots of places to eat and drink are a short stroll away.

Within a half hour drive you've got places like Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Filey is south. The RSPB at Bempton Cliffs is along the coast for seabirds. York is about an hour away by car, or you can get the train from Scarborough station.

Facilities are all there. WiFi, TV, cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the drive.
