Owls Rest is one of a few cottages at Killerby Old Hall, near Scarborough. We live on site. It's a quiet spot but the coast is only about two miles away.
The cottage sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is handy with that many people. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
You get your own enclosed garden space with patio furniture. There's a shared indoor heated swimming pool on the grounds that all guests can use. The other cottages are around the same courtyard, so you might see other people coming and going.
Cayton village is a short walk, maybe ten minutes. It has a shop and a couple of pubs. For a bigger shop or more choice, Scarborough is about four miles up the road.
The beach at Cayton Bay is the closest, less than two miles. It's good for walking the dog or a paddle. Filey is to the north and Scarborough to the south, both a short drive. Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are a bit further, maybe 45 minutes, but they're a good day out.
If you like walking, you're near the Cleveland Way. For a proper day out, the North York Moors Railway starts at Pickering. Dalby Forest is good for bikes or a walk. Historic places like Castle Howard are within a half hour drive.
Inside, it's open plan on the ground floor. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside.
