The Retreat is in Hunmanby village. It's a semi-detached bungalow in a quiet street. You get the whole house and garden.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. It's not a show home, everything works, and it's clean. The stairs up to the main bedroom are dormer stairs, so they're a bit steeper than normal.
The back garden is enclosed. There's a conservatory that looks onto it. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
The village has a shop and a couple of pubs about five minutes walk away. They're fine for basics and a pint. For a big shop, you'd drive to Filey or Bridlington.
The beach at Primrose Valley, near Filey, is about a ten minute drive. Filey Brigg is good for a walk. The beach at Filey is very long and sandy, it's won awards. It's a bit quieter than Scarborough.
If you like walking, the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Centenary Way are close. The North York Moors National Park is about half an hour's drive. You can get the steam train from Pickering to Whitby from there.
Bempton Cliffs, the RSPB reserve, is ten minutes away by car. You can see puffins and gannets on the cliffs. York is about 45 minutes to an hour's drive, depending on traffic.
What's here: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, a woodburning stove, and parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs.
