Redwood is one of six cottages at Killerby Old Hall, near Cayton Bay in North Yorkshire. It's a three-bedroom place that sleeps six. There's one bathroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not a hotel. The owners live on site. You can use the indoor heated swimming pool, which is a bonus if the weather's not great.
The cottage has its own patio area with furniture. It doesn't have a private hot tub, but some of the other cottages here do.
There's a shop and a couple of pubs about a five minute walk away in Cayton village. The beach at Cayton Bay is less than two miles away. It's a good sandy beach, not too busy.
Filey is a few miles south. It's a traditional family resort with a promenade and a cobbled landing. Scarborough is a few miles north. You've got the amusements of South Bay and the quieter North Bay. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here.
Further along the coast, Whitby is about a 40 minute drive. Robin Hood's Bay is similar. Inland, you can get to the North York Moors. Pickering is where the steam railway starts. Dalby Forest is good for walking and cycling. North York Moors National Park has the details.
York is about an hour's drive if you fancy a city day.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking on site. Sorry, no pets.
A note on the stairs: they're mentioned as being steep in the official description. Just so you know.
