This place is called Coastguard Cottage Paradise. It's in Scarborough, up in the Old Town part. It used to be part of the coastguard station, but it's a house now. Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well equipped. The views are the main thing. You can see the sea over South Bay from the front windows, and Scarborough Castle from the back.
It's quiet up here, but you're only a few minutes' walk down to the harbour and the promenade. The town centre is close, with shops and pubs and the Stephen Joseph theatre. The open air theatre does big shows in summer.
You've got two beaches, North Bay and South Bay. The promenade is over three miles long if you want a proper walk. You might see seals from the beach.
The North York Moors are about ten minutes' drive north. You can get the steam train from Pickering to Whitby through the moors. Bempton Cliffs RSPB sanctuary is about a ten minute drive south, for the seabirds.
Further out, Flamingo Land theme park is half an hour away. York is about an hour, by car or train.
At the house, there's a south-facing deck with outdoor furniture. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair. There's parking on site. No pets, sorry.
