Midbays

Midbays is in a terrace on Dean Road, about a five minute walk from Scarborough town centre. It's a three-floor Victorian house. The back patio is enclosed and there's a lockable shed for bikes or paddleboards.

It sleeps six, but the layout is a bit mixed. The ground floor is the living room, dining room and kitchen. First floor has a double bedroom, a bunk room with a single over a sofa bed, and the family bathroom. The second floor is under the eaves: a big room with a double bed, a small single bed, and a sofa. It's flexible.

The stairs are normal for a house this age, a bit steep and winding.

You can walk to everything. Both the North and South Bay beaches are about three quarters of a mile away. The North Bay is quieter, with the Sealife Centre. You can walk the promenade from one bay to the other on the flat. There's a cemetery at the end of the road for quick dog walks. We allow two dogs. We leave bowls and a dog towel.

In town, there's Peasholm Park with pedalos, the Stephen Joseph Theatre, and the Alpamare waterpark with an outdoor pool. The Open Air Theatre has big concerts in summer.

For day trips, you're about half an hour from the North York Moors. Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are north, Filey and Bridlington south. Bempton Cliffs are close if you like seabirds.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels included. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if needed. Parking is on-street, which is usually fine but can get busy in peak season.
