Stepping Gate Cottage
Stepping Gate Cottage is on a farm track near Scalby, just outside Scarborough. It's attached to one side of the main farmhouse but you have your own entrance. We're often here, but sometimes we're away. Someone will be able to help if you need it.
It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything is on one level. It sleeps two. One bedroom with a double bed, one bathroom. It has a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
The place is quiet. You get deer in the field, barn owls sometimes, and buzzards overhead. There's no street lights, so the sky is dark at night.
The garden and patio are yours to use. There's a BBQ. Parking is right outside. You can bring one dog.
You can walk to Scalby village in about 15 minutes. There's two pubs, a café, and a village shop there. There's also a hotel at the end of our farm drive, and a bistro opposite it.
The coast is about three miles away. Scarborough is ten minutes in the car. Filey is about twenty minutes south. To the north, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby are half an hour or so. The edge of the North York Moors National Park is right here, so the walking is very good straight from the door.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sitting area, a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. All the bedding and towels are included.
