Over Across
Over Across is up at Lind Head in North Yorkshire. It’s one of a few converted stone farm buildings on the site.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it’s comfortable and clean but not luxury.
The layout is on multiple levels, which is worth knowing. You go down two steps into the kitchen from the front door. The living room is on the ground floor. The stairs to two of the bedrooms are upstairs, and they’re proper cottage stairs: a bit steep and winding.
One of the twin bedrooms has a five foot cabin bed in it, which is really only suitable for a child. The beams are low in that room too.
Outside, there’s a patio area with furniture. The site has a shared games room with a pool table and table tennis. There’s also a swimming pool on site, which is kept at 28 degrees. You can use the sauna for an extra cost.
You’re a couple of miles from Cloughton village, which has two pubs. The coast at Hayburn Wyke is the nearest bit of sea. It’s a woodland walk down to a waterfall and a cove. There’s an old coaching inn there.
For walking, you’re near the Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track. You can walk to Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay from here, and on to Whitby.
The North York Moors National Park is inland. Dalby Forest is about a 20 minute drive and has good cycle trails. Scarborough is about a 25 minute drive for things like the Sea Life Centre. Flamingoland is about half an hour away.
Facilities: All the bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking. You can bring one well-behaved dog. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
