The Yorkshireman

The Yorkshireman is a semi-detached bungalow next to our house in Ravenscar. It sleeps three, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out to sea from the front. The sitting room and one bedroom face that way. It's a proper headland, so it's quite dramatic.

There's a small, enclosed courtyard off to the side. It gets the sun for most of the day if you want to sit out.

Inside, it's all on the ground floor. We've done it up recently, so it's in good order. The facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking on the drive. There's an electric vehicle charger if you need it. All bedding and towels are included.

Ravenscar itself is quiet. It's not a town, more a village on the cliffs. There's a pub that does food about five minutes' walk away. The coast is about a twenty minute walk down the old railway path, the Cinder Track.

You're right on the Cleveland Way long-distance path. You can walk south to Robin Hood's Bay, which is lovely, or north towards Whitby. The whole area is part of the North York Moors National Park. There's a National Trust Coastal Centre here too.

Scarborough is about a twenty minute drive south. Whitby is about twenty minutes north. Both have all the usual seaside things. Filey is a bit further south.

No pets, I'm afraid.
