The Parlour
The Parlour is on our farm in Normanby. It's about ten minutes from Whitby. The building used to be a milking parlour.
It's just for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower room. The floor in there is heated. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen at one end, sofa at the other. Big glass doors look out over the fields towards the moors. You get a good view of the sunset.
The stairs to the sleeping area are quite steep. It's a converted farm building, so the ceiling is beamed. Mind your head if you're tall.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a bit of patio out the front and parking right next to the cottage. We provide bedding and towels. There's wifi. We've also got a cot if you need it.
Robin Hood's Bay is closer than Whitby, maybe five minutes in the car. It's all winding streets down to the sea. Good for a walk and a pint.
If you want to book a massage while you're here, we can sort that. There's a local person who comes to the farm.
Around here, you've got the North York Moors National Park on the doorstep. The Cleveland Way footpath runs along the coast. The steam railway from Whitby to Pickering is worth a trip. National Trust Yorkshire has a few properties within a half hour drive, like Nunnington Hall.
Further afield, you can get to Scarborough or Dalby Forest in about half an hour.
