Bosun's Quarters is a flat on East Crescent in Whitby. That's up on the East Cliff. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One double, one twin. It's got one bathroom with a shower.
It's a good, modern flat. No damp or anything. It's warm. The main room is open plan, so the living area and kitchen are all one space. It's light. You get a parking space.
The location is the main thing. It's about 50 yards from the top of the 199 Steps. You know the ones. So you're up high, looking right over the harbour and the old town. The Abbey is a two minute walk away. Whitby Abbey is English Heritage.
You can walk down the steps into the middle of everything. The shop on Church Street is about five minutes down the hill. The pubs and fish and chip shops are right there. The beach is at the bottom.
The stairs up to the flat are external. They're stone and metal, and there are quite a few of them. It's fine if you're okay with steps.
For getting out of town, you're right on the Cinder Track. That's the old railway line. You can walk or cycle to Robin Hood's Bay on it. Takes about an hour and a half on foot. Robin Hood's Bay is good.
If you drive, the North York Moors are about 20 minutes. The steam railway at North Yorkshire Moors Railway is good. Pickering is half an hour. Scarborough is about 40 minutes.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
