Bosun's Quarters
Bosun's Quarters is an apartment in Whitby. It's on the ground floor of a Victorian terrace. You get the whole place to yourselves.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. There's a double and a twin. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kept and comfortable. The living area is open plan, so it's light. It doesn't have a garden, but you're a few minutes' walk from the harbour.
The parking is on the street outside. It's usually fine, but it can get busy in summer.
The local shop is about 250 yards away. The pub is closer, about 200 yards. It does food. For fish and chips, you've got plenty of choice along the front.
Whitby Abbey is the big one. You can see it from a lot of places in town. The 199 Steps up to it are exactly that: 199 steps. It's a climb, but the view from the top is worth it.
The beach is sandy and about half a mile away. Good for a proper walk. The Cinder Track, which is an old railway line, starts nearby if you want a flat walk or a bike ride without going on the road.
Robin Hood's Bay is about six miles south. It's a good spot for fossil hunting. Staithes is about twelve miles north. Both are classic Yorkshire fishing villages, just a short drive.
For a day out, the North York Moors are right there. You can drive into them in about twenty minutes. The steam train from Pickering to Grosmont is a classic trip, and it finishes at Whitby station.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
