Sea Glimpse is a first-floor flat in Whitby, on West Cliff. It's in a Georgian house that's been done up. You can see a bit of the sea from the windows.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The place has a modern kitchen and things like a washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi. We've put in an arcade machine as well, which is a bit of fun for a rainy day. There's an electric wood burner for atmosphere, it puts out a good bit of heat.
You're very close to Whitby Pavillion. The beach is about three miles long, it's sandy and goes all the way to Sandsend. It's a proper walk. Into Whitby town centre is about five minutes on foot. That's where all the pubs, shops, and the harbour are. You can get boat trips from there.
Whitby Abbey is up the steps from the harbour. It's a ruin, very dramatic. The English Heritage site has the details.
If you drive, Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are along the coast, about twenty minutes or so. They're old fishing villages, very steep streets. Runswick Bay is similar, a bit closer. For a day out, you can get the steam train from Whitby across the moors to Pickering. That's run by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
There's a local pub, and golf and fishing if that's your thing. We include bedding and towels. A travel cot and highchair are here if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
