The Anchorage

The Anchorage is in Kettleness. It's on the cliff top. You look out over the sea and the fields behind. It's quiet.

It's a three-bedroom cottage. Sleeps six. One bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.

There are sea views from the front. The side garden is enclosed with stone walls, good if you have dogs. The back has a sheltered patio.

Inside, it's old-fashioned cottage stairs. They're a bit steeper than modern ones. There are three steps down from the kitchen into the living room. The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen has a table with a bench seat.

Upstairs, one bedroom has a super king bed and faces the sea. There's a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. On the top floor is a twin room with a little TV area under the eaves. Another twin room is accessed by a different staircase from the kitchen.

You can walk to the beach in about twenty minutes. The Cleveland Way path is just outside. You can walk to Whitby along it, but it's about six miles. For a shorter trip, Runswick Bay is a mile away.

Whitby is about four miles by car. It's got the Abbey, the harbour, and all the usual fish and chip shops. The North York Moors National Park is right on the doorstep.

The property has parking. Wifi is provided, but the signal out here can be patchy, like most rural places. Bedding and towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
