Evergreen House

Evergreen House is in Runswick Bay. It's a terraced house about ten minutes walk up from the beach. You get private parking, which is handy here.

It sleeps eight people in five bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a good size, not cramped. The garden is enclosed and private. There's a summerhouse with board games and a heater, so you can use it even if it's a bit chilly.

The kitchen is big and open plan, good for everyone sitting together. The living room has a wood burner and comfortable sofas. The stairs are fine, just normal house stairs.

Runswick Bay beach is lovely. It's a sheltered bay, so the water is often calm for paddling or paddleboarding. It's dog friendly too. The walk down from the house takes about ten minutes. It's a steep hill back up, but that's the same for everywhere here. At the top of the village, literally a minute's walk away, there's a pub that does food.

You're right on the Cleveland Way path for walking. North up the coast you've got Staithes, which is a proper old fishing village, and then Saltburn for surfing. South is Sandsend and then Whitby. Whitby is about a twenty minute drive. It's got the Abbey, the old town, and all the rest of it. You can get the heritage steam train from there across the moors.

For a longer day out, the North York Moors are inland. Robin Hood's Bay is south of Whitby, maybe half an hour by car. It's another of those places where the houses spill right down to the sea.

Facilities wise, it's got what you'd expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
