Evergreen House is in Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire. It’s a big house that sleeps eight, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You have your own parking, which is useful as the road can get busy in summer. The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you have kids or dogs. There's a summerhouse out there with some board games and electricity. It’s a nice spot if you want to sit outside but it’s breezy.
The kitchen is large and open plan, so a group can all be in there. The living room has a wood burner and comfortable sofas. The stairs are fine. Two of the bedrooms are on the first floor, including the master with an en-suite shower room. Then there’s a second floor with two more bedrooms, so it’s a bit more private up there.
Runswick Bay beach is about a ten minute walk downhill from the house. It’s a lovely, sheltered bay. Good for paddling and paddleboarding. There’s a small café and a pub right on the sand. The village pub at the top of the hill is a minute’s walk away and does meals.
You’re right on the Cleveland Way for walking. Heading north on the coast path you get to Staithes, which is about a 20 minute drive. Saltburn is about half an hour north; it’s good for surfing and has that Victorian pier. Going south, Whitby is roughly 20 minutes by car. It’s busy but has the Abbey and the harbour. Robin Hood’s Bay is another 15 minutes or so past Whitby. For a different day out, the North York Moors National Park starts just inland.
The house has things like a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed but please keep an eye on them as it’s not totally escape-proof.
