Captains Quarters

Captains Quarters is a row of four old army huts, up on the hill above Staithes. They're ex-WW1 bunkers and we've done them up. Sleeps twelve across five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. They're simple and solid, but they're comfortable and clean.

The bunkers are separate buildings, set back from the village on a shared piece of ground. You get your own bit of garden with a patio area. There's parking right there, which is important because you can't drive into Staithes itself.

The village is a two-minute walk down a steep, cobbled lane. It's a proper old fishing village, tight in the cliffs. There's a small harbour, a few pubs, a couple of shops, and some cafes. It's quiet.

You're right on the Cleveland Way for walking. The coastal path is on your doorstep. Whitby is about eleven miles along the coast, with the Abbey and everything else. The North York Moors are just inland if you want a different view.

Inside, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.

Because there are four separate bunkers, we sometimes get groups booking a few together. If you're a bigger party, just ask.
