Forge Cottage
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all with their own shower or bathroom. One is downstairs with two single beds that can zip together into a big double if you'd prefer. The other two are upstairs: a king-size room and a large master with a super king bed and a bathroom that has both a bath and a shower.
Downstairs is all one open space. There's a kitchen with an island, a dining table, and a big sofa by the wood burner. Glass doors go out to the patio at the side and the garden at the back. The garden is tiered, so you can follow the sun. It's enclosed. There's a barbecue and a wood-fired hot tub out there. We can have the hot tub ready for when you arrive, but there's a cost for that, so you need to arrange it with me beforehand.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which just means it's well equipped and finished to a high standard. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive, and a locked shed for storing bikes or paddleboards if you need it.
The location is straightforward. You're right opposite Scaling Dam Reservoir. You can swim there, or paddleboard, or fish. There's a pub about a minute's walk away. It's family friendly, does food, and has a little outdoor play area and mini golf.
You're about 20 minutes drive from the coast. Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay are all in that range. Or you can go straight onto the moors. The main road outside leads right over them.
