The Byre is on our farm in Houlsyke, near the North York Moors. It's attached to another cottage called The Stable, but you have your own front door and garden. The garden faces west, so you get the sun in the evening and a clear view across the fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. We converted it from an old byre, so the ceilings are high with wooden beams. There's a wood burner in the living room. We leave you some logs to get started.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi. All the bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
Being on a farm, it's quiet. You'll see sheep in the fields. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for children. We don't allow pets, sorry.
For walking, you're right in the North York Moors National Park. The coast at Whitby is about a 40-minute drive. Goathland and the railway are closer, maybe 25 minutes. Pickering with the castle and the moor road is about half an hour away.
