Finkle Barn
Finkle Barn is in Houlsyke, on the North Yorkshire Moors. It's a detached stone barn, over two hundred years old. It used to be a cow byre. The conversion was done well. The main thing is the view. Big windows look straight out across the valley. You just stand there and look at it.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything works and it's comfortable. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. We allow one pet. There's also a BBQ out there.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The roads are quiet. There's fishing close by too, if that's your thing. The nearest shop is about two miles away in Goathland. There are country pubs and tearooms in the villages around here.
Whitby is the main town nearby, about a twenty minute drive. It's got the abbey, the Captain Cook connection, and a long sandy beach. Scarborough is about half an hour in the other direction.
For facilities: it has WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking right outside.
