Denham
This is Denham, in Glaisdale. It's our place. It's a big, old stone house, detached. Over two hundred years old. Sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a group.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not a show home. The kitchen is a proper farmhouse kitchen, big. There are beams, and the floors are a bit uneven in places because it's old. That's just how it is.
The garden is enclosed, with a patio that looks over it. It's safe for kids. The village is quiet. There's a shop about three minutes' walk away, and a pub with a cafe attached about five minutes.
You're right in the North York Moors. Walk straight out of the door onto bridle paths. The River Esk runs through the village. For the coast, Whitby is about eight miles. It's got the harbour, the abbey, and a sandy beach. Robin Hood's Bay and Runswick Bay are close too.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train starts at Grosmont, which is very near. You can get on it there.
Facilities: it has what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Woodburning stove for cooler evenings. Parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry.
