The Mill

The Mill is near Goathland station in North Yorkshire. It's an old water mill, which means it's right by the river. The garden is big and feels quite separate. There's parking next to the building.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs. One has a double bed, the other has twins. There are two bathrooms, one on each floor which is handy. It’s got a 4 Star rating.

Because it's a converted mill, some things are different. The living area is all one open space downstairs. The stairs are the original mill stairs, so they're quite steep and turn a corner. Might not suit anyone less steady on their feet.

You're right next to the railway line for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. You can see the steam trains from the upstairs windows. It's not loud, but you'll know they're there. The station is about a minute's walk.

The garden is mostly to the side and back, away from the lane. It's got a patio and a barbecue. You'll get rabbits and birds in there.

Goathland has a pub that does food, about five minutes walk. There's a village shop too. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Pickering or Whitby.

You're in the North York Moors National Park straight away. The walking is right from the door. For a day out, Whitby is about 25 minutes by car. Pickering is 20 minutes the other way on the steam railway. York is about an hour's drive.

Inside, there's a wood burner, WiFi, and a TV. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. No pets allowed.
