The Mill is in Goathland, up in the North York Moors. It used to be a water mill, parts of it are really old. It’s right by the little river.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, with a wood burner. There’s a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
The garden is a decent size. It’s private and gets a lot of wildlife. There’s a patio and a BBQ.
Goathland station is just there, literally a stone’s throw. You can see the steam trains from one of the bedrooms. You can walk straight onto the platform and get one to Pickering or Whitby. The village pub is about a quarter of a mile away.
You’re right in the National Park for walking. The paths start from the door. Whitby is about a 20 minute drive for the beach and the harbour. York and Helmsley are both within an hour’s drive if you fancy a day out.
Useful links for planning: North York Moors National Park and National Railway Museum if the trains are a big draw.
