The Dairy is in Beck Hole. It's semi-detached and part of our house, but you get your own space. The garden is yours to use. It's quiet here. Really quiet. You can hear the river.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it's good for a group or a couple of families. The kitchen was redone a couple of years ago. It's got everything you'd need. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
We allow up to two dogs. There's an enclosed patio garden so they're secure.
The pub is a few minutes' walk down the lane. It's tiny, serves good ale, and does food. The village shop is a mile away in Goathland.
You can walk straight from the door. The paths go up onto the moors or along the river. The North York Moors National Park website has good maps. Goathland is a mile away. You can get the steam train from there to Pickering. It's the one from the TV show.
Whitby is about eight miles over the moor road. It's a proper fishing town with the abbey on the cliff. The beach is sandy. Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are along the coast, maybe twenty minutes by car.
There's parking for two cars on the drive. All the bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
