Surprise View
This is Surprise View. It's in Glaisdale, on the North York Moors. The cottage is attached to our house, but you can't see into ours and we can't see into yours. It used to be a cow byre from the 1700s.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
You get your own enclosed garden. It's lawned and looks out over the moors. The views are really good. There's parking right outside.
You're right in the middle of the North York Moors National Park. You can walk or cycle straight from the door onto the tracks. There's a bike store if you bring yours.
The shop and the local pub are about a mile away in the village.
Whitby is about a 20-minute drive. It's got the abbey, a harbour, and a sandy beach. From there you can get the steam train inland to Goathland. The coastal villages like Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are also within half an hour.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included.
The facilities list says "pets: 0", so we don't take pets, sorry.
