Grosmont Villa is a big Victorian house in Grosmont, right in the North Yorkshire Moors. It's detached and set in six acres of its own woods, so it feels very private, but you're only a few minutes' walk from the village centre.
It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have their own en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was completely renovated a few years ago.
The kitchen has an Aga and a big table on flagstone floors. There are two living rooms, each with a wood burner. The main one has leather sofas. The garden is terraced and looks out over the Esk Valley. There's a large picnic bench out there. The driveway is big enough for five cars.
The stairs are standard for a house this age. They're fine, but they're not a modern, gentle staircase.
Grosmont is famous for the steam trains. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs right through. The station and a pub are about five minutes' walk away. The pub does food. There are a couple of cafes in the village too.
You're on the Coast-to-Coast walk here. For other walks, The North York Moors National Park site is useful. Whitby is about seven miles away. It's a proper fishing port with good fish and chip shops. Dalby Forest is about ten miles for cycling and walking trails.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on the driveway.
