Grosmont Villa

Grosmont Villa is in Grosmont, North Yorkshire. It's a big Victorian stone house, built in 1861. It's detached and sits in about six acres of its own woodland, so it's very private, but you can walk to the village centre in a few minutes.

The place sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms. Four bathrooms, three of those are en-suites. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it all renovated in 2020, so everything works properly, but we kept the original features like the flagstone floors and fireplaces.

The kitchen is big and has an Aga. There's a large table in there for eating. There are two separate living rooms, one with a wood burner and sofas, the other with leather seating and a different wood burner. The stairs are normal, but remember it's over three floors.

Outside, there's a terraced garden with views over the Esk Valley. There's a big picnic bench. The driveway is large and can take five cars easily.

The village pub is about a five minute walk. It does good beer and home cooked food. There are a couple of cafes in the village too. Grosmont is famous for the steam trains. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs right through.

You're on the Coast to Coast walk here. Whitby is about seven miles away for the beach and the harbour. Goathland, which is the Heartbeat village, is about three miles. The North York Moors National Park website has good walking information. Dalby Forest is about ten miles for cycling and walking trails.

Included in the rent: all bedding and towels, electricity, WiFi, a TV. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a highchair. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's plenty of parking.
