Cherry Garth is our place in Goathland. It's a detached house, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The garden goes all the way around the house and it's fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. We take two. Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room. That room leads into a sun room at the front, which gets the light. The kitchen has what you need. Nothing too fancy, but it works.
Goathland village is a five minute walk. You'll know it from 'Heartbeat' as Aidensfield, and not much has changed. There's a village shop, a couple of tea rooms, and a pub. The pub does food. The station here is the Hogsmeade station from the Harry Potter films. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs through it. You can walk down the old rail line to Grosmont, about three and a half miles, and get the steam train back.
For walks, you're right in the North York Moors National Park. There's a waterfall in the village. The moors are all around, with good pub walks. The coast is about a twenty minute drive. Whitby is nine miles. It's got the abbey, the 199 steps, and fish and chips. Places like Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are along the coast too.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. The stairs are normal house stairs. There's a shower, and one bathroom has a bath as well.
