Gable End Cottage is in Goathland, up on the North York Moors. It's our old farm cottage, but we've done it up. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has two single beds that can be joined into a super king if you prefer. The bathroom has a bath and a shower over it.
Downstairs is open plan. There's a wood burner, which is nice in the evenings. We've put in decent wifi and a Smart TV. The stairs are typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We allow two. You'll see our sheep in the fields around the cottage.
You're about half a mile from the village. There's a pub that does food, and a shop. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway station is in the village, which is fun if you like steam trains.
Whitby is about nine miles away for the coast. Pickering is under ten miles the other way. York is about an hour's drive if you fancy a city day. For walking, you're right on the edge of the moors. You can just step out the door.
Practical stuff: there's parking, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
If you're looking for information on the area, the North York Moors National Park website is useful for planning walks.
