Woodman House is in Sleights village, about four miles south of Whitby. It's a detached house. Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. You can bring two dogs.
The main living space is open plan. Lots of windows, so it's bright, even on a cloudy day. There's a big table that seats everyone. The kitchen is modern, you've got a dishwasher and washing machine. A glass door slides across to the games room if you want to close it off.
There's also a separate sitting room downstairs with a wood burner. It's a smaller, quieter room. One bedroom and a bathroom are on the ground floor. The bathroom has a spa bath. Upstairs are three more bedrooms, two king-size and a twin. The ceilings are beamed.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy with dogs. There's parking on the drive.
In Sleights there's a shop, a pub, a butcher, a bakery, and a fish and chip place. The River Esk runs past, good for a stroll. You can hire canoes in Ruswarp, the next village along.
Whitby's about a ten-minute drive. You know Whitby, harbour, abbey, the works. The beach at Sandsend is a bit closer. For other coasts, Robin Hood's Bay and Runswick Bay are within twenty minutes or so.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. The Cleveland Way path runs along the coast and inland. For a day out, the North York Moors National Park site has walking routes. The English Heritage page for Whitby Abbey is useful for tickets and times.
Included: bedding, towels, WiFi, electricity. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
