Jays View

Jays View is in Whitby. It's a mid-terrace townhouse, so it's on a street with other houses. You get the whole place to yourselves. It's about a ten minute walk into the centre of town and down to the beach. There's a parking space right outside, which is useful in Whitby.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. The house is on three floors. The stairs are standard, not a spiral staircase or anything, but they're fairly steep because it's an old terrace. Just something to be aware of.

The garden is at the back. It's on three levels, sort of terraced. There's a table and chairs on the lower bit and a bench up at the top. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

Inside, the kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a dining table there too. The living room has an electric stove that looks like a wood burner. It gives off a good heat. There are Smart TVs in the living room and the main bedroom. The top floor room has beanbags and another TV, so kids tend to end up there.

You're a few minutes' walk from a shop and a couple of pubs. Whitby itself has everything: fish and chips, proper restaurants, pubs, and the usual seaside shops. The beach is sandy. You can walk along the harbour wall or up the 199 steps to the Abbey. The North York Moors National Park starts just outside town. The Cleveland Way coastal path runs right through if you want a long walk.

Within about half an hour's drive, you've got Robin Hood's Bay, which is a lovely steep little cove with cottages all tumbled down to the sea. Staithes is similar. Sandsend is just up the coast and has a nice long beach. Scarborough is about 45 minutes south if you want a bigger seaside town with more attractions.

What's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. WiFi works fine. No pets, sorry.
